My toast sits waiting while I fiddle with the little pump.
I caught myself turning the Nanopresso around beside my breakfast plate. Holding it with both hands, with my thumb beside the pump, made this feel like a pleasantly hands-on morning ritual.

Questions, answered
No. It has no heater or battery, so it brews with whatever water you pour in. For a hot espresso, fill the 80 ml tank with boiling water from a kettle, stove or flask. The maker advises against boiling water in the tank in a microwave; heat it in a kettle or glass container instead.
At full 18 bar pressure, the maker states you press the knob with a force of about 13 kg (28.66 lbs), which is 15% less than its first-generation Minipresso. The user guide recommends holding it with both hands to apply that force comfortably. According to the maker, a pressurised valve keeps the pressure stable once it has built up.
It is designed for extra-fine ground coffee. The maker says its pressurised head improves consistency when your grind is less precise, and that the head can be disconnected for non-pressurised brewing, which needs a fine-tuned grind. The maker adds that correct tamping also plays an important role in extraction, so follow the instruction book in the box for your first shots. Capsules need a separate adapter that is not included.
How it works
No setup screens or settings: fill the basket, add boiling water, hold it with both hands and press the knob.

One shot uses the included 8 g filter basket and up to 80 ml of water in the tank. The maker says it can pull styles from a short ristretto to a single shot. For a double espresso you need the separately sold 16 g double basket, which the maker's Barista Kit pairs with up to 120 ml of water; it is not part of this package.
Rinse the scoop, brush, cup, portafilter, filter basket and the basket area of the body under running water, then wipe the other parts with a damp cloth. Let every part dry separately. The portafilter components come apart for a deeper clean when needed. It is not dishwasher safe.
You get the espresso maker with its built-in espresso cup, one filter basket, a scoop, a brush, a cloth carrying pouch, a multi-language instruction book, a warranty card and two stickers. The double filter basket, the capsule adapter and the large water tank are sold separately.
